About the class
If you’re a newcomer to the world of sugarcraft and would like to know more, then this is the ideal class for you. Ceri.D will introduce you to a variety of basic skills and techniques within a friendly atmosphere, including flower making, basic piped borders, piped flowers, basic modelling, frilling, and the use of cutters and moulds. This is your chance to spend time with an internationally recognised cake artist and find out what skills you wish to focus on in the wonderful world of sugarcraft and cake decoration.
Class starts at 10:00am and ends at 15:30, I normally allocate 30 minutes for lunch but students are welcome to work through lunch if they wish. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits are available throughout the day however lunch is not supplied; there are cafes, Sainsbury’s and a Tesco’s within a couple of minutes walk. If you wish to bring lunch with you, cutlery and plates are supplied for your use.
Beginners Royal Icing

About the class
This two day class will form the foundation for royal iced work. You will learn how to cover a fruit cake with marzipan and royal icing. You will learn how to do piped blossoms, leaves and a simple border design. Ceri. D will share many of the tips and tricks of the trade and you will leave the class with the confidence to decorate with royal icing.

Fabric Effects, Flowers & Bows

This one day class will introduce you to the fascinating skill which is fabric effect. Ceri. D will teach you fabric bows, flowers and drapes, then show you how to pull these skills together into a single tier cake.

The Border Challenge

About the class
Are you up for the challenge of a one day project class? Author of Border Inspirations 1 & 2, international cake artist Ceri . D will be your guide in the application of royal icing borders onto sugarpaste cakes. In a matter of hours Ceri will teach you eight different piped borders, you will then pipe them and finish them off with stacked line work. This is your chance to work alongside a leading expert in the field of piped borders to fine tune your piping skills.

When you only need a single rose it had better be a showstopper and in this one day class you will learn to create a life size realistic rose and leaves, a stunning centrepiece for any cake or display piece. Ceri. D will teach you how to make a rose from flower paste, assemble and dust it to a professional finish.

Orchids are one of the exotic gems often adorning cakes these days and in this one day class you will learn to create a spray of orchids and leaves, a stunning addition to any cake or display piece. Ceri. D will teach you how to make a spray of orchids from flower paste, assemble and dust it to a professional finish.

About the class
If you have already completed beginner level royal icing skills then you can build on and develop them with this two day class. Royal icing expert, Ceri. D, will introduce you to more advanced techniques including line work, inscriptions, filigree piping, basic pressure piping, piped roses and leaves. All the skills taught will be based upon a cake coated in sugarpaste therefore ideal for the contemporary cakes of today. You will leave this class with a new library of skills to add the wow factor to your cake creations.

No matter if it’s the Calla Lily, Tiger lily or Stargazer lily a lily will always stop people in their tracks. In this one day class Ceri. D will teach you how to make various lilies from flower paste, assemble and dust them to a professional finish.
